Big news with Pimcore … again!
Pimcore just announced the preview release of the Pimcore Data Hub to once again exceed their commitment to the Pimcore Community!
This new tool provides a central graphical user interface (GUI) to transform and prepare data for input and output channels.
Christian Kemptner (Marketing and Partner Manager at Pimcore) released a statement introducing this exciting technology along with a YouTube video demonstration. He said the new Data Hub strategically places Pimcore as compatible with the very popular and powerful query language GraphQL, providing easier connectivity with Content-as-a-Service (CaaS) frontends such as React, Vue, and other PWAs. GraphQL is a query language for APIs, and a server-side runtime for executing queries by using a Type System you define for your data. GraphQL isn’t tied to any specific database or storage engine and is instead backed by your existing code and data.
As Christian laid out, the new Pimcore Data Hub will become the main platform for data delivery and data consumption in Pimcore, including:
- Integrating different input and output channel technologies in a simple and easy-to-configure user interface
- Importing and exporting data from and into Pimcore in different formats
- Automated, reusable data pipelines for scale and efficiency
This framework is fully based on Pimcore APIs for superior connectivity to provide standard connectors with eCommerce software and SaaS applications. This hub will also be compatible with recurring CSV and Microsoft Excel flat file imports and exports. Pimcore Data Hub will become the universal tool for getting data in and out of the Pimcore platform, whatever the industry standard, proprietary, or legacy formats. It is deployable anywhere— on premise, private, and managed cloud services.
He also discussed how this makes Pimcore a very competitive Headless Content Management solution. Explaining a Use Case of Pimcore Data Hub in a YouTube video, you’ll see the headless CMS feature while using Pimcore for Content-as-a-Service. In many enterprises, only certain parts of centrally managed content or data is needed for new channels such as apps. Data Hub makes it possible to manage and provide content data in a structured, neutral formats without layout for using in multiple channels.
